These quests contribute to the disclosure of secondary characters (and for the most part there is something, sometimes extremely curious personalities come across – a lady with a pan, for example, who personifies the next reference to Twin Peaks (lady with logs)) and often reward truly useful things that expand your capabilities. Even fast movement is not available before the execution of one quest, which is not easier to notice easier. All this makes the system of sidewalks a significant part of the game. Yes, gameplaino they retain the spirit of “give-nadi-nadi”, but the binding of obtaining a quest to temporary segments and weather phenomena, the characters of the quest drives and a significant reward that can slightly change the further gameplay made this system beautiful in my eyes. If you nevertheless retire in the plot forward, missing the quest – there is an opportunity to return to the desired chapter and outplay it. It is very convenient, Noo brings a little hardcore element of the timeliness factor to null.

But what would be the story of the game without meeting with the protagonist. Especially if such is a theater. York destroys the stereotypes about the FBI agent from the threshold, talking in an empty car racing into Greenweil, with an imaginary interlocutor, calling him Zaku. He does not “work for the public” and does not try to cause a storm of sympathy. York says and does what he wants and where he considers necessary. The game is generally full of good humor, which at first surprises, given the gloom of circumstances that called York to these lands. How you get used to the animation of “manual dressing”, thanks to which the expression of emotions comes out too obvious and hypertrophied. But I advise you just to perceive it as one of the features of the game. Personally, it was even amusing me later.
The atmosphere of serenity with the course of the plot and the disclosure of the characters is replaced by an atmosphere of mystery, the idea that Greenweil is not so simple, and the searches of the killers are delaying the player with his head and to the credits. I will not disclose details, I will only say that a lot of surprises awaits you ahead. I did not have perplexity and disappointment at the end, and there were reasons to think about some things.

And what is loomed in the end? A masterpiece that is very easy to take for a cheap craft that is not worth attention. Yes, this game is peculiar and, like York, does not try to please the player, falling asleep him with special effects, polygons and ideal animation of his face, hands and that cat on the fence. But the fact is that the charms of the project are not superficial and not so obvious. The game is valuable with scenario and directorial work (which is revealed by increasing), the intention of combining gameplay ideas (even if not everywhere everything was realized smoothly, but the gift of new sensations was quite able to achieve), who can configure the desired atmosphere. Many works of art have flaws, but they (flaws) should be ignored, accept how to or try to turn them into an advantage in your eyes (as I did) if this work is worth it, if it has a rod, a strong basis. And in Deadly Premonition there is such a rod – they are a magnificent story with bright characters and dashing twists!
